DROPKICK MURPHYS Added To AEROSMITH's Boston Concert

Accoring to The Boston Globe, DROPKICK MURPHYS have been added to AEROSMITH's June 16, 2009 concert at the Comcast Center in Boston, Massachusetts. AEROSMITH guitarist Joe Perry told The Boston Globe he's been focused these days on healing from his recent knee surgery. "That wasn't exactly what I'd call a trip to Newbury Street," he said of the infections and physical therapy that made for a bleak winter. Perry said the experience made him feel close to fellow knee surgery survivor Tom Brady, although Perry joked that Brady's recovery looked more enjoyable in the media than his own. "So he's lounging around Morocco or Cabo San Lucas or wherever the hell [he and Gisele Bundchen] were and I was lying around getting antibiotic injections."

Perry may have inadvertently let it slip that the band's next studio album will come out exclusively through Wal-Mart. When asked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the album being delayed by Perry's and singer Steven Tyler's medical problems, Perry replied, "This is about the third time I've had to make excuses why the record isn't out. You line everything up just right: Brendan O'Brien producing, Wal-Mart and Sony screaming for the record, tour coming up, and there's no record. We're still in shock that it's not happening."

There has been no official confirmation of the Wal-Mart deal, although artists such as THE EAGLES and AC/DC have both issued recent albums exclusively through the giant retailer.

Work on the new AEROSMITH album was first halted when Perry underwent knee surgery, and then again after Tyler contracted pneumonia. The band will resume recording after this summer's tour with ZZ TOP.

Perry also confirmed that AEROSMITH will perform one album in its entirety on the tour, although he did not reveal which one.
